The Club Welfare team

Raiders Trustee, Steve Slater, is responsible for the Club’s compliance with the child protection and welfare issues that are related to running a youth football club.

The Club Welfare Officers, Johanna Connolly (Boys) and Joanna Conway (Girls) are responsible for the welfare and safeguarding of all members under the age of 18. Three of the Club codes relate specifically to Club Welfare issues, namely:

  • Safeguarding Children Policy
  • Child Protection Policy
  • Complaints and Disciplinary Procedure.

These codes can be downloaded below.

They can be contacted at welfare@berkhamstedraiders.com

It is important that all Raiders AGCs and Managers are familiar with these documents and understand the action to take in the event of a concern relating to young players or any conduct/disciplinary issues, raised by members, parents or by players/parents of opposing teams. Please take the time to read these documents and understand them.

Making a complaint or highlighting an issue

The first point of contact is Johanna Connolly (Boys) or Joanna Conway (Girls) our Club Welfare Officers. Johanna or Joanna should be contacted immediately if any concerns exist about the welfare of a child, or if any issues arise at Raiders training or at Raiders games, whether it refers to Raiders parents and players or the opposition. They can be contacted by the following email, welfare@berkhamstedraiders.com
